At seven weeks old and seven pounds weight, Emma had the largest attitude we have ever seen in a dog. She was probably the most wrinkley dog we have ever seen as well. The little three inch long front legs had a dozen folds on them. Her coat was twenty sizes too large. We assume that the coats of princesses are only made so small and she would just have to grow into it. Her attitude did not have to grow however. She entered our home to greet the other animals and immediately walked up to the largest dog, Einstein, and snapped at her. Einstein, having never seen a tiny snapping ball of wrinkles, backed off. She proceeded to take the largest doggy bed in the house as her own. She would also walk up and take over food bowls during meals, and basically commanded her kingdom from the very early age of seven weeks old. It doesn't appear that she will be dethroned in the near future. All Hail, Emma.
With that said, you would think that there would be a problem with people and Emma. The exact opposite is true, Emma is a loving animal that seeks out human contact. She is at the door to greet us when we come home, and when she comes in from outside, she shows enthusiasm to see us again. She spends time at the local school system with the behavior-emotional disturbed kids where she is star of the show. She also visits the handicapped students and is greeted like a best friend by everyone. She shows that Shar-Pei can be great therapy dogs.
