- The full price of the Dog is: $
- The Buyer agrees to pay for and to pick up or arrange to ship the Dog at
weeks of age. In the event the Buyer can not arrange for immediate
shipping of the Dog, then a reasonable fee will be paid by the Buyer for the
boarding and care of the dog until placement of the Dog can be made.
- To the best of our knowledge this Dog is
free of disease and in good health at the time of sale and delivery. The Dog has
been given all necessary inoculations and dewormed. It is guaranteed against any
kennel incurred illnesses. There is a three (3) day period after delivery in
which to have the Dog examined by a licensed veterinarian at the buyer's
expense.
- The Dog is guaranteed for two (2) years
against any crippling, genetic or orthopedic defects. Should any occur, the
Seller shall (at the Buyer's option) replace the dog as soon as possible with
another animal of the same sex and of equal value after the Seller has received
written confirmation of the defects from a licensed veterinarian. The Buyer must
arrange and pay for only the shipping of the new dog. Entropion is not covered
by this contract.
- This Dog will be held under an AKC
Non-Breeding contract that can only be changed or lifted by the Seller. Under no
circumstances will this dog be bred or used for breeding. Any action of breeding
will be considered a breech of contract on the Buyer's part.
- The Buyer agrees to spay/neuter this dog
on or before the dog reaches six (6) months of age. The Dog will be sold on a
co-ownership basis until spayed/neutered. If the Dog is not spay/neutered by one
(1) month after the Dog reaches six (6) months of age, the Seller has the right
to remove the Dog from the Buyer's custody at no expense to the Seller. No
replacement dog will be given.
- After the Buyer has sent a copy of
spay/neuter certificate obtained by a licensed veterinarian, the Seller will
arrange for transfer of full ownership to the Buyer.
- In the event the Dog (female) becomes
pregnant before spaying, the Seller may remove the Dog from the Buyer's custody
and also remove all puppies whelped from the Dog. At this time the Dog will be
spayed at the Buyer's expense. No replacement dog will be given.
- The Buyer agrees to keep the Dog updated
on all inoculations and keep the Dog fed and sheltered at all times. Most of
all, the Buyer shall give the Dog lots of love and attention and in return, you
will receive equal love and devotion. If for any reason the Seller has proof
that the Dog is being mistreated, neglected or abused, the Seller may remove the
Dog from the Buyer's custody at no expense to the Seller. No replacement dog
will be given.
- If for any reason the Buyer can not
provide the care and attention the Dog requires, the Buyer must return the Dog
to the Seller. The Buyer cannot resell or relocate the Dog without direct
written consent from the Seller.
- Under no circumstances will the Dog be
sold to a pet store, university lab or any establishment not abiding by the
rules of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
- All legal fees incurred by the Seller due
to the Buyer's breech of contract shall be paid by the Buyer.
- THE DEATH OR LOSS OR DESTRUCTION OF
THE DOG from any cause what so ever
before the final payment has been made on the purchase price shall not release
the Buyer from further payments. The Buyer agrees to notify the Seller before
any major surgery or euthanasia is done on the animal. The Buyer agrees to
notify the Seller on the loss or death of the Dog.
- The Buyer agrees to have a complete
autopsy (including Red Congo Stain) performed by a licensed veterinarian upon
the death of the Dog. If the Dog dies of confirmed Amyliodosis due to liver or
kidney failure within the first 3 years of life, the Seller agrees to replace
the Dog with one of equal value as soon as possible.
- The Shar-Pei is a very intelligent breed that
will excel at many tasks. This dog is not able to compete in any conformation
events, however, it may compete in obedience trials. We recommend a beginner
obedience course for teaching both the dog and the owner. Not only will you have
a better behaved pet, but the course can give the dog and owner a better bond
and closeness. We hope you have lots of enjoyable times and years with your new
Shar-Pei puppy.
Although this contract may sound stern and
demanding, you must keep in mind that we are concerned about the welfare of our
puppies for their entire life. We must ensure they go to the proper homes and
are well cared for. We also try to ensure that as well as caring for the dog
that all needs are being met in a fair manner for both the Seller and the Buyer.
